Sense & Sensibility
This is a basic theme for BuddyPress that will be very easy to customize. The front page shows the latest post from the main blog, has a widgetized sidebar, and three widget areas in the footer.

I’ve just updated this theme for BuddyPress 1.2. While I was at it, I added a theme options page with a font size & style selector, and extra color schemes. The blue is default and you now have gray, green, red and orange to choose from. I had originally designed this theme with more color blocking and borders, but decided to leave it out to be more versatile. I can’t wait to see what you guys do with it! 
There’s also an added bonus – if you’re not running BuddyPress and just plain WordPressMU or even single WordPress, the theme also works. The BP features just smoothly go away. Turn on the BP plugin and they come back. One note about setup: to get the “Blog” menu item to show the latest entires from the main blog, create a new Page on the main blog called Blog, and save. Go to Settings -> Reading, and select the option to show the blog entires on the Blog page. Do not select a page for the home.

i just finalized thesis theme framework controlled buddypress myself ,soon to be free..
im very much behind your theme as well, i believe its great for many sort of networks , especially community driven business sites…

Guys, I’ve installed the theme to my normal wordpress and i get error and my wordpress won’t load. the error is:
Warning: require_once(BP_PLUGIN_DIR/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user/my-directory/wp-content/themes/sense-and-sensibility-bp/bp/bp-functions.php on line 4
I thought this theme was for wordpress. How can i revert to a standard theme? nothing loads only that error.

If you simply delete the theme folder (via FTP, for example) WordPress will revert to the default theme.
I had to do just that after installing this theme on a fresh install of plain WP + BP, as I immediately received a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_tpack_wp_pages_filter()
You do not need to use the template pack plugin with this theme.
My widgets area’s are always emptied after I visit the widget-sidebar
then I have to set them up again and save them, then they appear again onto my site
but when I visit the widget-page from the admin panel again, it’s all reset again
this only happens with this theme
apart from that, I find this a really great theme to customize!
